Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Mobile Tree Spa LLC ("we", "us"), which operates Sound Wood at soundwood.app. By creating an account or using Sound Wood you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What Sound Wood is

Sound Wood is a web app for arborists. You type in sonic tomography readings taken with your own equipment, and Sound Wood draws a decay map, estimates the share of the cross-section that may be decayed and produces a field report.

Not a substitute for professional judgment

Sound Wood is a tool to support a qualified tree assessment. It is not a complete risk assessment on its own. Its results depend on the readings you enter, the species and cutoffs used, and how the sensors were placed, and they are estimates. Decay can be present where the map shows sound wood, and the reverse. You are responsible for your assessment, your recommendations and any work done on a tree. Do not rely on Sound Wood alone for decisions about safety.

Your account

You need an account to use Sound Wood. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 18 years old, and the details you give us must be accurate. One person per account; your team members should each have their own.

Plans and billing

The free plan lets you keep up to 3 saved trees at a time. The Unlimited plan costs $15 a month or $150 a year, as shown on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Account → Manage subscription; you keep Unlimited until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are covered by the refund policy. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; a change applies from your next renewal after that notice.

Your data

The tree records and reports you create belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you. How we handle personal information is explained in the privacy policy. You can delete your account and its records at any time from Account.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break in, overload it, copy or resell it, reverse engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Sound Wood running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve, change or stop features. If we ever shut the service down, we will give paying subscribers reasonable notice, a chance to export their records, and a refund of any unused prepaid time.

Disclaimers and liability

Sound Wood is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Mobile Tree Spa LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury, property damage or loss arising from tree failure or from decisions made using Sound Wood. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Sound Wood and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms. Sections about your responsibility for assessments, disclaimers and liability continue after your account ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Sound Wood after that means you accept the new terms.
